Jacksonville police officer charged with DUI

A Jacksonville police officer was arrested over the weekend on a charge of driving under the influence while off duty in St. Augustine, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Christopher Krukowski Lamont becomes the third Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office employee arrested so far this year, police said.

The arrest came after a traffic stop just before 1 a.m. Saturday on San Marco Avenue, police said.

Lamont, a three-year department veteran, was driving a personal vehicle at the time, police said. He has been reassigned while the criminal case is pending, police said.
