Wilkine Brutus - WLRN
Wilkine Brutus is the Palm Beach County reporter for WLRN. The award-winning journalist produces stories on topics surrounding local news, culture, art, politics and current affairs. Brutus and his colleagues are the recipients of the 2021 National Edward R. Murrow Award for Overall Excellence, the first time the station has won the award at the national level. Before joining WLRN, Brutus worked as a digital reporter for the Palm Beach Post, producing print and video-based profiles of artists and entrepreneurs in Palm Beach County. Before that, he was an educator and freelance journalist who had amassed millions of views on his YouTube channel during his four-year stint in South Korea. Brutus is a guest faculty member at the Poynter Institute and serves as a mentor for SXSW’s Media & Journalism program. He earned his bachelor's degree in multimedia studies from Florida Atlantic University.
