Anna-Catherine (Anna-Cat) Brigida is an investigative reporter at the Tributary.
For more than a decade, she has produced accountability reporting on immigration, reproductive rights and tech, with a focus on Latin America and immigrant populations in the U.S. Her investigations have been cited in legal briefs, congressional reports and court cases and spurred local government action. She was a Livingston Award finalist in 2019 for her reporting on the dangers facing Salvadoran deportees and in 2025 for her reporting on Venezuelan migration. Her investigation on the abuse of surveillance technology in Honduras was the 2024 winner of the Fetisov Journalism Awards for civil rights reporting.
Prior to joining the Tributary, she worked as the immigration reporter for the Houston Landing, the Argentina correspondent for Reuters and a freelance journalist in Central America. Her work has been published in The Washington Post, National Geographic, and The Intercept, among others, and her reporting has been supported by the Pulitzer Center, International Women’s Media Foundation, International Center for Journalists and the Border Hub.
