Contemporary Cartographies 

MOCA Jacksonville | Downtown Jacksonville 

A new exhibit of works culled from MOCA Jacksonville’s permanent collection, as well as an assortment of pieces on loan from local and national artists, explores the idea of charting one’s surroundings. The exhibit, Contemporary Cartographies, is open to the public beginning Friday. The museum is open from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and noon-5 p.m. on Sunday. Free admission on Saturdays. Flamboyance!: Behind the Scenes Tour 

Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens | Riverside  

The iconically blushing bird the flamingo takes center stage, or center garden rather, in Flamboyance!, the Cummer Museum of Art and Gardens first-ever topiary exhibit. Get a peek behind all the pink on Friday with a behind-the-scenes tour led by Patrick MacRae, the Doolittle Director of Gardens & Horticulture, who will unpack what it takes to propagate the plants that will form the flocks of flamingos artfully displayed throughout the Gardens. The tour is held from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Registration is required. More information: cummermuseum.org

Beaches Fine Arts Series Presents: Chanticleer 

St. Paul’s-by-the-Sea Episcopal Church | Jacksonville Beach 

The Beaches Fine Arts concert series returns with yet another free show at St. Paul’s-by-the-Sea Episcopal Church in Jax Beach. This time, BFAS features Grammy Award-winning vocal ensemble Chanticleer. The San Francisco-bred group, heralded by The New Yorker as “the world’s reigning male chorus,” returns to BFAS for the fifth time. Each concert in this year’s series includes a visual art installation showcasing the work of a local or regional artist. A reception for the work of Jax-based landscape painter Vanessa Withun is held on Sunday night after Chanticleer’s performance. Doors at 3:15 p.m. Show starts at 4 p.m. More information: beachesfinearts.org
