Mortality and Mourning: Women in Black candlelight tour

Friday and Saturday

Ximenez-Fatio House Museum | St. Augustine

Take a spooky candlelight tour through the Ximenez-Fatio House Museum in Downtown St. Augustine with Mortality and Mourning: Women in Black. This year’s version of the popular event offers a deeper, more personal look at how women shaped – and were shaped by – grief, death and remembrance from the Second Spanish Colonial Era through the Victorian Age. The 227-year-old home is draped in mourning as guides in historic attire share stories and customs that show how women lived with loss in the 19th century.

20 Aviles St., St. Augustine,; Tickets: $23.79; Tickets and more info.

Sunday Funday Market

Sunday

Lift Ev’ry Voice and Sing Park | LaVilla

Fall is in the air, and the Sunday Funday Market is back with a special Fall Festival edition, hosted by Florida Fish Pepper Co., at the park that was created to celebrate the heritage and success of the once-segregated LaVilla neighborhood. Plant your own peppers at the Plant Bar, browse handmade goods, fresh produce and art from local vendors, and enjoy a relaxed, intergenerational atmosphere perfect for bringing elders, kids and stories along. More than a market, it’s a chance to celebrate community, culture and the season.
