The advisory indicates that the frozen shrimp was distributed to Walmart stores in Florida, Georgia and 11 other states from July 28 through Aug. 7.

At this time, no product in stores has tested positive for the radioactive isotope Cesium-137, the FDA says. But the shrimp may have been prepared, packed or kept under insanitary conditions where it may have become contaminated, the agency says.

Consumers who bought the recalled shrimp should not consume it and should throw it away or return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.

The Great Value Frozen Raw Shrimp EZ-Peel & Deveined Tail-On 21-25 Per lb. shrimp have lot codes 8005538-1 and 8005540-1, with a “Best Used By” date of 3/15/2027.
