A man is behind bars on a murder charge in connection with a shooting outside Copeland’s of New Orleans at Southside Boulevard and Touchton Road, police said.
The shooting June 11 shut down parts of the busy intersection as detectives investigated. Shoppers in the Deerwood Lake shopping center next door heard the gunfire.

Josiah Luis Martinez, 24, was arrested late Monday on a charge of second-degree murder. He remains held without bail, according to jail records.
Detectives were called to the restaurant just after 2 p.m. to find Kenneth Mobley Jr., 38, suffering from a gunshot wound to his chest. Mobley was pronounced dead at a hospital. Police have relaesed no information about what led to the shooting.
