Zunzibar, a seafood and surf bar, will replace Burrito Gallery at Brooklyn Station in Riverside.
According to its website, Zunzibar is a “beachy sports bar” that serves award-winning sandwiches, wings, sauce, chips and more.
It will serve house cocktails, frozen drinks, and local drafts. There will also be two daily happy hours and live music.
The owner, Chris Smith, is originally from Florida and launched the business out of Savannah, Georgia. A spokesperson said the new location marks a homecoming for him.
Officials said Brooklyn Station is a popular retail and entertainment hub that’s ideal for a seafood and surf bar. They said they consider Jacksonville a strategic step for growth.
The bar is expected to open in December.
Burrito Gallery closed abruptly on June 24, with a sign on the door that reads: “Thank you for years of patronage. With heavy hearts, Burrito Gallery is now closed. We have truly enjoyed serving our community, providing memories, great food, and margaritas! We thank you!”
