Independence Day falls on a Friday this year, so fireworks will explode all around the area on the same day.
Some counties will have multiple events.
DUVAL COUNTY
- Downtown Jacksonville will host its traditional 4th of July fireworks at 9 p.m., launched from the Acosta Bridge and east of the Main Street bridge. Prime viewing sites will be along the Northbank and Southbank Riverwalks. Parking is available nearby. The city have its show Downtown this year, instead of at multiple sites as in recent years. - Jacksonville Beach will launch its fireworks at 9 p.m. from the pier at 504 1st St. That means the pier will be closed Wednesday for preparations, and the pier parking lot is closed to vehicles all day Friday, but it will be open for public viewing. More information is here.
CLAY COUNTY
- Keystone Heights’ 57th Annual 4th of July Celebration will start with a 6 a.m. 5K run on South Lawrence Boulevard at 6 a.m., followed by a parade at 11 a.m., afternoon Wild West and water skiing shows in the afternoon, then a fireworks show at 9:30 p.m. The full schedule is here.
- The American Pride Fourth of July celebration will start at 5 p.m. at Moosehaven in Orange Park with live music, food trucks and fireworks over the St. Johns River at 9:15 p.m. For more information, click here.

NASSAU COUNTY
- Fernandina Beach‘s annual Hometown 4th of July will start at 6 p.m. at the foot of Centre Street with music, food trucks and vendors, ending with fireworks over the water at 9 p.m. More information is here.
PUTNAM COUNTY
- Palatka’s Fourth of July Celebration will start at 4 p.m. on the city’s riverfront with music, food trucks and more, wrapping up with a fireworks show at 9 p.m. More information is here.
ST. JOHNS COUNTY
- In St. Augustine, the Fireworks over the Matanzas celebration will start at 6 p.m. with a live concert in the Plaza de la Constitucion, and a fireworks display at 9:30 a.m. over the bay. Free satellite parking and shuttle services will be provided. More information is here.
GEORGIA
- In St. Marys, Georgia, the Fourth of July festival starts with 5k and 10k runs at 7 a.m., followed by a parade at 10 a.m. on Osborne Street, and local arts and crafts and food vendors. Fireworks start at 9:15 p.m. over the St. Marys River. More information is here.
