Summer at the Cummer

Cummer Museum of Arts and Gardens | Riverside

This annual event series is a personal favorite for my family and me. There’s just something magical about spending a summer evening at the Cummer Museum, surrounded by live music, beautiful art, great food and the gorgeous gardens.

Now in its seventh year, Summer at the Cummer kicks off this weekend with live performances from ChillaKaya and Yael Dray, food and drinks, outdoor games, and creative energy everywhere you turn. You can even catch a weaving demonstration by the Jacksonville Weavers’ Guild in Art Connections.

Heavyweight showcases artists who pursued figurative expression at a time when such approaches were often dismissed or overlooked in favor of more conceptual, non-representational styles. With artists ranging from those with classical training to those involved in printmaking, mural art, paper, and street art, Heavyweight also highlights Jacksonville artists who are heavyweights in their respective disciplines.
