Curious about the cosmos? Join the UNF Physics Department and other like-minded folks for their monthly evening of astrophysics and stargazing. The event kicks off with a short public talk by researchers sharing their latest discoveries in astrophysics. Afterward, explore the night sky using powerful telescopes to view stars and planets up close.

Madama Butterfly in Concert

Amelia Plantation Chapel | Amelia Island

Opera lovers, this one’s for you! Amelia Island Opera presents a concert performance of Puccini’s Madama Butterfly—one of opera’s most powerful and enduring tales of love and loss. Featuring Cuban-American soprano Elaine Alvarez, whose stunning performances have graced the Lyric Opera of Chicago and The Metropolitan Opera.

Accompanied by the University Singers of Jacksonville University and an orchestra led by conductor Keith Chambers, this moving performance will bring Cio-Cio San’s heartbreaking story to life with Puccini’s poignant, sweeping score.
