BIT OF JOY | Local Military Child of the Year semifinalists

Three local teens are among 105 national semifinalists for Operation Homefront’s Military Child of the Year award:

  • Amaia Arteta, 16, Green Cove Springs (Army National Guard)
  • Trenton Green, 17, Jacksonville (Navy)
  • Felicity Roussakies, 16, Kingsland, Georgia (Navy) 

The award honors the achievements of the children of servicemembers and highlights the positive influences they have on their communities despite the unique challenge they face as military kids. Seven winners, representing each branch of the military, will be selected in March to win a $10,000 prize along with a new computer and other items. Congratulations and good luck in the next round!
