Jennifer Weitzel Berry, a beacon of love and kindness, was called home to the Lord on November 25, 2023, at the age of 42. Born on January 9, 1981, in Jacksonville, Florida, Jennifer’s life was a testament to the beauty of a soul nurtured by faith, family, and the joy of song.

Jennifer, known for her radiant smile and generous heart, spent her early years in Jacksonville, where she enjoyed participating in dance and musical events in her church, school, and community. The seeds of her musical talent were nurtured at the Douglas Anderson School of the Arts. Her voice, a blend of grace and strength, was a gift she shared freely, majoring in Vocal Music, and touching the lives of all who heard her sing. Her passion for teaching led her to Jacksonville University, where she earned a degree in Early Childhood Education, minoring in Musical Theater, and where she also embraced sisterhood in the Gamma Phi Beta Sorority.

In the tapestry of her life, Jennifer wove threads of love and commitment with her beloved husband, Eric Berry. Together, they journeyed to Greenville, South Carolina, where they built a life rich in shared dreams and aspirations. Jenifer’s professional path in restaurant management, most recently at the Cliffs at Keowee Falls, was marked by her selfless dedication and the warm hospitality that came naturally to her.

Jennifer’s love story was not only with her husband but also with the great outdoors. She found solace and inspiration in the embrace of nature, traveling to explore new horizons, hiking through the verdant trails of the Carolinas, and marveling at the majesty of waterfalls. These moments of adventure and reflection were the wellspring of her joy. She also loved crafting and cooking, recreating old family recipes, and trying new ones with Eric.

She leaves behind a legacy of love with her husband, Eric, her parents Terence and Patricia Weitzel, and her brother, Jonathan Weitzel, along with his wife, Stephanie. Her nephews, Gabriel and Garrett Weitzel, will carry forward her spirit of kindness. Jennifer’s memory will also be cherished by her extended family, including Beth Berry and Jan Maurer as well as a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins who were blessed to know her.

Jennifer’s life was a living example of the words loving, kind, and selfless. She walked in the light of these truths, spreading warmth and compassion to all she encountered. Her presence was a gentle reminder of the goodness in the world, and her absence will be felt deeply by the many hearts she touched.

As we gather to celebrate Jennifer’s journey to her eternal home, let us hold fast to the memories that illuminate our paths. Let us sing songs of gratitude for the time we were granted with her and let us continue to walk in the love she exemplified. Jennifer Berry’s story does not end here; it carries on in the lives she influenced and the love she shared. We bid farewell to our dear Jennifer, not with sorrow, but with the promise that in the choir of angels, her voice now soars higher than ever before. Her melody will forever resonate in the halls of our hearts, and her spirit will guide us until we meet again in the glory of the Lord’s embrace. Rest in peace, sweet Jennifer, until we are all reunited in the splendor of everlasting peace. Amen.
