Take the kids to the zoo or museum — for free

There are two two weeks left in Kids Free November, a Visit Jacksonville initiative to encourage families to check out the city’s top attractions by making tickets for children free, as long as the kids are accompanied by a paying adult.

The Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens will let five children 12 and under get in for free with one paying adult; the tickets have to be purchased online and in advance.

The Museum of Contemporary Art makes tickets free for kids younger than 18.

The Cummer Museum has the same deal for children ages 6 to 12 — and everyone gets in for free every Tuesday and Friday night.

Other attractions participating in Kids Free November include the Museum of Science and History, the Ritz Theatre and Sweet Pete’s candy making.
