Significant progress has being made with power restoration efforts along the First Coast after Hurricane Milton.
Most of the power outages in the area were reported in St. Johns, Putnam and Flagler counties.
As of noon Friday, 4% of customers in St. Johns County were without power. Thirteen percent were without lights in Putnam County and more than 20% in Flagler County, according to outage tracking website PowerOutage.us.
Those numbers have dropped significantly over the past two days. During the height of the outages, at least 24% of customers were without power in St. Johns County, around 47% in Putnam and around 70% in Flagler.
Most of the outages reported in St. Johns and Flagler counties are with Florida Power & Light Co. customers. FPL said that at some point Friday it will provide customers with an initial estimated time that power will be restored. The utility said the update will include an update on the conditions crews face as they work to restore power.
FPL also serves customers in Putnam County, but the county is also served by Clay Electric co-op.
Clay Electric said in a news release Friday that it estimates power will be completely restored in Putnam County by noon Saturday.
