The Main Street Bridge in Downtown Jacksonville will shut down from Monday through Saturday for rehabilitation work, according to the Florida Department of Transportation.
A longer shutdown and repair job is scheduled in two years, the department said.

Next week’s closure is required for a crew to do laser imaging of the bridge and a mechanical evaluation ahead of replacing its trunnion in early 2028. The trunnion bearings serve as pivot points at the top of the bridge and allow it to be raised and lowered.
The bridge will be closed to pedestrians and motorists next week, although boat traffic below will not be affected, FDOT says.
Drivers will be detoured to the Acosta Bridge to get between San Marco and Downtown.
