JSO’s first of 6 town halls set for Tuesday with Sheriff T.K. Waters

Northside residents will hear from the Sheriff and staff at 6 p.m. on Tuesday as the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office kicks off the first of six summer Town Hall meetings at the Church of the Eleven22 at 418 Starratt Road.

Tuesday’s town hall is open to residents of Patrol District 6, which covers the Northside, San Mateo and Oceanway areas.

The Sheriff’s Office will discuss its response to community concerns raised during last year’s town hall meetings. Waters will be on hand, as will District 6 Commander Mike Silcox with district-specific updates. And both will answer community questions.

The next five patrol district meetings:

  • District 5 meeting is at 6 p.m. on July 15, at Trinity Baptist Church at 800 Hammond Blvd. That patrol district includes Baldwin and communities from West Beaver Street north to Cisco Gardens.
  • District 4 meeting is at 6 p.m. on July 22, at First Coast Christian School, 7587 Blanding Blvd. This patrol district includes Westside communities along Old Kings Road south to Normandy Estates and Old Gainesville Road.
  • District 3 meeting is at 6 p.m. on July 29, at University Christian School, 5520 University Blvd. W. This patrol district includes communities in Mandarin and the Southside south of Beach Boulevard.
  • District 2 meeting is at 6 p.m. on Aug. 8, at The Church of Eleven22 at 651 Commerce Center Drive. This patrol zone includes Arlington and East Arlington north of Beach Boulevard.
  • District 1 meeting is at 6 p.m. on Aug. 12, at First Baptist Church of Jacksonville, 125 W. Ashley St. This patrol district includes Downtown as well as the Springfield, {Panama Park and Brentwood communities.

Meanwhile, Clay County residents can talk to Sheriff Michelle Cook during a community town hall at 6 p.m. on Thursday. Set for Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 7190 U.S. 17 in Fleming Island, Cook will be joined by Clay County Judge Ray Forbess and an Intercept Task Force Detective to discuss issues in the county. A question and answer session will be held for the community.
