Several races for mayor and city councils in the Beaches finished tight Tuesday night.
In Atlantic Beach, Curtis Ford ran unopposed (because Ellen Glasser resigned for health reasons) and so Ford will continue as mayor.
But in Jacksonville Beach, Georgette Dumont and Chris Hoffman competed for the mayor’s seat. Hoffman, the incumbent, won with 53% of the vote.
In Neptune Beach, Cori Bylund won easily in the mayor’s race over Michael Phillips, with 62% of the votes.
With all precincts counted, those who picked up council seats in Jacksonville Beach included Bruce Wouters over Fernando Meza, Dan Janson over B. Duke Lewis and Greg Sutton over Jennifer Ashley.
In Neptune Beach, Brent Rogers won a council seat with 59% of the vote over Kerry Chin.
Council candidate Thomas Grant took 52% of the vote in Atlantic Beach over Mark Gabrynowicz.
