People seeking to reinstate their suspended driver’s licenses will get a green light over the next few weeks in several Northeast Florida counties due to an annual statewide program.
Called Operation Green Light, the program allows those with suspended driver’s licenses to pay overdue court obligations, including traffic tickets, and save on additional fees that would normally apply.
Operation Green Light is sponsored by the Florida Clerks and Comptrollers:
- CLAY COUNTY: 8 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Orange Park branch, 1590 Park Ave. For further information, contact (904) 278-4772.
- DUVAL COUNTY: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 20 to 24, with extended hours until 7 p.m. on that Thursday. No appointments are needed, but the event is held only at the clerk of court’s Duval County Courthouse office at 501 W. Adams St. Only the 30% collections surcharge is waived as part of Operation Green Light. By Florida law, late fees cannot be waived, the Duval Clerk’s Office said. Payment can be made online at epay.duvalclerk.com and must be made by 5 p.m. March 24.
- NASSAU COUNTY: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at the main office, 76347 Veterans Way in Yulee. For more information, call the office at (904) 548-4519.
- ST. JOHNS COUNTY: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 20 through 24. This year’s event is held only at the clerk’s office at the Richard O. Watson Judicial Center, 4010 Lewis Speedway in St. Augustine. In addition to in-person payment at the courthouse, payment can be made online at stjohnsclerk.com or by phone at (855) 796-5764.
